1.Magura Vater Vita/মাগুরা ভাতের ভিটা – A Historical Place in Magura

An archaeological site located in The Village of Tilla on the north bank of the River Fatki, 14 km from Magura Sadar Upazila, is called The Vita of Rice, aka Vater Vita.

Buddhist Sanghyarams are believed to have existed in The Village of Tilla from the third century of the Mauryan Empire until the Gupta Empire, about 321 BC.

A court was established to govern the region, and a high-rise area was built west of The Village of Tila to punish the culprits. Locally this place is known as small sesame or rice vita.

The flood inundates various parts of the country, but the village of Tila is never flooded. However, according to locals, a spiritual darvesh built this vita, so the place is considered a holy place.

There is also a widely prevalent legend behind the naming of Vater Vita. A darvesh with miraculous powers came to the banks of the gated river and started construction of a mosque within a night to pray.

While preparing to cook rice for food during construction work, the night began to break the silence, and chirping birds filled the air.

In this situation, darvesh left the mosque work unfinished. As a result, everyone saw unfinished mosques, cooked rice, and a pond with rice fans rolling next to it in the morning.

Since then, the name of this mound has been Vaater vita. And the rice fan was rolled up and created a pond in one place called Fanghali Pond.

The Department of Archaeology discovered a temple-like Paharpur Buddhist Bihar built by a Buddhist association of the Gupta Empire. The temple had a four-foot-long hand and multiple rooms. Later a mosque was built in Vita in Rice, and locals offered regular prayers here.
